About

Lackawaxen Township Volunteer Ambulance Service proudly protects 3000 full-time and 10,000 seasonal people living in an area of 76 square miles. We operate out of Two stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

In 2005 a referendum was passed to start taxing for Emergency Medical Services in Lackawaxen Township to provide coverage between the hours of 6am-6pm.

In late 2008, Lackawaxen Township Volunteer Ambulance Service became known as Lackawaxen EMS and started 24 hour paid coverage.
